That won't help in tasks where you have to align and place an object at
the "ground floor" for modeling. We can easily change and edit the origin
point location using a combination of our 3D Cursor and the Snap
options.
The Snap options offer a collection of shortcuts that align and set the 3D
Cursor with a selected object. You can even use the 3D Cursor as a
reference to set a new location for an origin point. That gives us a
powerful option to place the origin point in key locations.
For instance, we can place the origin point at the base of the cube using
a simple procedure:
1. Select the cube and go to Edit Mode
2. Change the selection mode to face
3. Select the bottom Face of your Cube
4. Press SHIFT+S and choose Cursor to Selected
With that procedure, you will get the 3D Cursor aligned to the bottom
face of your Cube (Figure 2.19).
